Of the captains? You wouldn't be the only one, but so far I can't think of anything they've done on purpose to try and get us killed. Just a lot of damage control.

Well Miles found the dead body of one of the captains in the morgue after getting locked in there for days... Uh. ( wait a fucking moment ) They got out roughly before things started really getting crazy, and they definitely were locked in. I don't suppose they let something out at the same time--

( miles did say it looked like whatever killed the captain made it look like it'd been badly burned. like lightening struck it.

I think I'm going to get myself some pretty good guns, because he's not going to be the only one who goes looking.

People usually aren't very bright about this kind of thing when they really want to solve a mystery. And our freedom depends on this one.

I've got a stunner and a nerve disruptor. Shame about the loss of the plasma arc though -- what I wouldn't give to to be able to create a nice line of plasma. ( ah, future weaponry ) Don't get more than you can carry, eh?

Hell, Miles is one of the brightest people I know. Only he gets really obnoxious when people can't keep up with him. Watch out for that, too. But it's nice to know the stupidity isn't just relegated to him.

Where I'm from we haven't used projectile weapons in centuries. ( a pause, and he thinks about that. ) The nexus hasn't used projectile weapons in centuries. We haven't since sometime in the middle of the Cetagandan invasion.

He didn't get angry about it. But ah, I remind him that here? You guys are what you have. Not politics, but each other. That's pretty important in a place like this and more than most people have.

No one has managed to shoot this thing yet, so I do not think that it matters.

I guess that's true. I never really thought about it before, just sort of went with it. If anyone was going to find their way into a different universe, it would have been Miles.
